Intimate Whistler Wedding at Nita Lake Lodge // Yvonne + Dan

It has been a busy wedding season so far and there is so much more to come!  I needed to take a break from editing to blog this sweet, intimate Whistler elopement though because it is one of my favourites to date.

Yvonne and Dan had a very small wedding on the dock at Nita Lake Lodge with only their immediate families present.  It was a beautiful and heartfelt event, you could really feel the love, not only from the couple but also from their families who were obviously thrilled about their marriage.

I love elopements because it gives me time to really focus on capturing stunning images of the couple.  We had an amazing portrait session later in the day (give me that golden light anytime!) and hit up a bunch of great spots around the Whistler area as well as taking a little ride in a red canoe on Nita Lake. My favourite location was the little wooden overlook which had an amazing view of the valley below, there’s something so epic about our variety of scenic backdrops in BC that I never tire of.

The pair was totally relaxed and so into each other that my job was made so easy! After we finished portraits we headed back down to the Lodge where the family had set up a beautiful intimate table for dinner. We made sure to get some fun sparkler shots before I left the group to their little evening celebration! This wedding really showcased that small weddings can be just as meaningful and fun as large ones.
