Having worked as a wedding photographer in Vancouver since 2016, I’ve had the honour of capturing unforgettable moments at some of the most beautiful venues across the city. From outdoor venues surrounded by lush nature and intimate downtown restaurants to sleek modern art galleries, historic landmarks, and repurposed spaces with tons of character, Vancouver offers a venue for every wedding style.
This curated list highlights 29 of my favourite Vancouver wedding venues, tailored to suit a variety of visions for your special day—whether you’re looking for historic elegance, incredible views, a luxurious hotel, or something delightfully unexpected.
Keep reading to explore these incredible venues, and check back often as I’ll be updating this guide with even more hidden gems and new favourites!
Historic Vancouver Wedding Venues
Cecil Green Park House
Cecil Green Park House is a Tudor-style heritage mansion in the UBC area offering stunning options for both indoor and outdoor weddings. You’ll have exclusive use of the space, which includes the elegant gardens and historic home.
If you’re planning a garden party wedding, Cecil Green Park House would be my top recommendation. The lawn is a beautiful spot for a ceremony or cocktail hour.
And if the weather turns or you’re hosting your wedding in the cooler months, there’s a covered terrace and plenty of indoor options with lots of charm.
Hycroft Manor
Hycroft Manor, an Edwardian mansion located in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood of Vancouver, was constructed in 1909 and used throughout history as a family home, party venue and convalescent hospital. It was purchased and restored by the University Women’s Club of Vancouver in the 60’s and is now one of the most popular Vancouver wedding venues.
I especially love this venue for its versatility; whether you want to get married indoors or outdoors, with many guests or just a few, there’s an option for you at Hycroft.
The Rose Garden is perfect for a pop of colour in your wedding photos and a beautiful space to host cocktail hour. If rain is a worry, The Terrace is a covered, elegant space and home to the iconic grand staircase (a must for photos!). There’s also The Drawing Room and The Green Solarium, perfect for evening events or winter weddings.
The Permanent
The Permanent first opened in 1907 as the home of The BC Permanent and Loan Company. Shortly after, it was occupied by the Bank of Canada and now stands as a landmark heritage building in the heart of Vancouver.
This restored, historic event space is an elegant and artful wedding venue option. Neoclassical art lovers will appreciate the crown moulding and bronze chandeliers, while all of your guests will be enchanted by the stunning stained glass atrium and original Bank of Canada vault door.
I’ve been fortunate enough to shoot several weddings here - including the wedding of The Permanent’s General Manager, Louisa Cohen - and am always so impressed by how the space can be transformed based on every couple’s unique style and decor.
Stanley Park Pavilion
Originally used as a concession stand when it opened in 1911, Stanley Park Pavilion is now one of the most beloved wedding venues in Vancouver and the oldest property in Stanley Park. This heritage space is perfect for weddings of any size and style, as they offer four unique venue options within the Pavilion.
My favourite is the Lord Stanley Ballroom with its vaulted ceilings, chandeliers and neutral colour palette. Because the room serves as a blank canvas, you can really make it your own without losing that timeless heritage feel.
Plus, with Stanley Park Pavilion being centrally located in Stanley Park, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to taking outdoor portraits.
The Vancouver Club
With over 130 years of history, The Vancouver Club is one of the city’s iconic private membership clubs. In addition to club memberships, they also offer a beautiful venue to get married in downtown Vancouver.
Depending on the size of your guest list and style of your wedding, you can choose from a few spaces in the club to host your ceremony and reception, such as The Ballroom, The Gold Bar, The Georgian Room (my personal favourite!) and more.
The Vancouver Club is a great option for non-summer weddings, as everything can be done indoors if the weather isn’t cooperating. They have a number of beautiful rooms and photo spots you can utilize, all with a very sophisticated and editorial vibe.
Vancouver’s Best Modern & Industrial Wedding Venues
The Polygon
The Polygon is a waterfront art gallery in the Shipyards District of North Vancouver (I told you North Vancouver had some incredible wedding venues!). In addition to presenting over 300 art exhibits, The Polygon Gallery also hosts events and weddings.
If you’re after clean and contemporary design, The Polygon is a great option. Their indoor space features white walls and bright lights, allowing you to bring your own wedding vision to life. There’s also stunning views of the Burrard Inlet and downtown Vancouver, especially if you’re renting Polygon’s Seaspan Pavilion with its retractable glass wall.
In terms of a modern space for weddings of all sizes (they host both intimate events for under 50 and large events for up to 2000), The Polygon is absolutely one of my favourites.
The Pipe Shop
North Vancouver is becoming the newest hotspot for amazing wedding venues in the Lower Mainland, and one of my favourites there is the Pipe Shop. Located at The Shipyards, and originally where pipe systems were laid out for ships, this restored heritage building offers a bright and beautiful space for Vancouver couples.
At over 7,900 square feet, the Pipe Shop seamlessly blends the industrial and the historic with concrete floors, original wooden beams and huge windows that let in all the best natural light.
My favourite thing about this venue is how you can change the layout of the space to fit your needs. It’s a total blank canvas and the same space can be flipped to host both your ceremony and reception. Luckily, there’s lots for guests to do in the Shipyards District to entertain themselves while your venue gets transformed.
The Wallace
Also in North Vancouver - and a sister venue to the Pipe Shop - is The Wallace. The Wallace is an amazing space for any couple looking for a modern and industrial vibe to their wedding. Inside you’ll find exposed ducts, large windows and a 3,500 square foot open concept space you can make your own.
But the real gem of The Wallace is the 2,400 square foot outdoor patio - a gorgeous place for a ceremony or cocktail hour with views of the Vancouver skyline. I love photographing my couples up here with the city and water behind them.
And with lots of hotels popping up in Lower Lonsdale, you and your guests can easily walk to your wedding venue, instead of needing to worry about transportation.
Pavilion Cowork
If you’re planning a smaller celebration and looking for a modern space that’s very unique, I suggest checking out Pavilion Cowork.
Both of their Mount Pleasant locations feature beautiful and clean design with light wood, neutral walls, black furniture, greenery and plenty of natural light. Their W 7th location also has a rooftop terrace with gorgeous views of the city!
Pavilion Cowork is best for more intimate weddings, though they do offer some larger event spaces as well. You can reach out to the team to see what areas would work best for your wedding.
The Kent
The Kent is where “elegance meets modernity” in an all-inclusive downtown Vancouver event venue. This has to be one of the most unique and design-forward spaces I’ve ever seen.
There are a number of different areas available to you at The Kent for your wedding, including The Penthouse and The Main Floor, which both feature art collections, stylish furniture and exposed white brick walls. There’s also The Gallery, a blank canvas of 3,000 square feet for you to make your own.
In addition to the venue itself, events at The Kent also include in-house catering, florals, furnishings, AV, lighting and more. They even have a resident DJ!
ARRAS Banquet and Event Space
Located in the heart of Vancouver, ARRAS is best known for beautiful views, sophisticated spaces and the ability to host large events.
At over 4,000 square feet, The Ballroom can host 350 people for a seated reception or over 400 for standing table service. The Rooftop Terrace offers stunning views over the city with a capacity of 300 for your ceremony. And for smaller events (50-100 guests), there’s the Piano Cafe with its dramatic glass ceiling, grand staircase and chandelier.
There’s also a lovely photo spot on the rooftop where you can take portraits in front of the Vancouver skyline with mountains in the distance - perfect for golden hour!
Vancouver Restaurant Wedding Venues
Kissa Tanto
If you’re a foodie couple looking for a venue that’s a little outside the box, I highly recommend checking out Kissa Tanto. This Michelin-star, Italian-Japanese fusion restaurant is tucked into the corner of an upstairs building in Vancouver’s Chinatown, making it an ideal intimate and unique setting for a wedding.
There’s definitely a moody vibe here, with the decor and furniture meant to recreate a 1960’s Tokyo jazz lounge feel. That means you won’t need to bring in much additional wedding decor, if any.
Instead, you and your guests can focus on enjoying the top notch service, delightful fusion menu and delicious cocktails!
Cafe Medina
One of Vancouver’s most beloved brunch spots also makes an incredible wedding venue. Cafe Medina boasts high ceilings, unique light fixtures, and art deco elements, perfect for intimate weddings with up to 55 seated guests.
I can tell you from experience that the food and service here are absolutely amazing! The Cafe Medina team really goes out of their way to take care of their couples and their guests. They accommodate food restrictions and ensure everyone is having a good time.
Because Cafe Medina is only open for brunch, you can easily book out the space for a dinner reception. The restaurant is already beautifully decorated and set with all of the seating, tables and dishware you’ll need - all you might want to add is a few floral arrangements!
Anh and Chi
Anh and Chi is an upscale family-run restaurant serving authentic Vietnamese food on Vancouver’s Main Street. This popular eatery has a great vibe and is a very cool spot for smaller wedding celebrations.
Founded by siblings Vincent and Amélie, with mom Lý serving as Executive Chef, Anh and Chi is known for their fresh and local dishes, as well as delectable cocktails. The decor features lots of natural light, greenery, distinctive tilework and traditional wooden touches.
I love the atmosphere - and of course, the food - at Anh and Chi. This space could work perfectly for a foodie couple looking for a unique venue with a great atmosphere for their smaller wedding or elopement.
Water St. Cafe (2nd Floor Gastown)
Located in a 1906 heritage building in Gastown, Water St. Cafe serves Italian west coast cuisine in a lively atmosphere with an even better wine list. For couples getting married, their upstairs space, 2nd Floor Gastown, makes an incredible venue option.
2nd Floor Gastown has a speakeasy vibe with hardwood floors, dark accents and entrance through a hidden bookshelf. This space hosts live music seven nights a week, so you know they’re ready for a party!
I had the pleasure of shooting a brunch wedding at Water St. Cafe and thought their 2nd Floor Gastown space was perfect for a small-scale celebration. Good service, good bennies, good cocktails… what more could you want?
LIVIA
LIVIA, an Italian bakery and restaurant on Commercial Drive, is such a gem and serves up some of the best food in town. It’s run by a husband and wife duo, Claire and Jordan, and named after Claire’s grandmother.
Inside you’ll find a charming cafe with beautiful tile work, a fully stocked bar and mouth-watering loaves of bread on the shelves. LIVIA is available for evening buy-outs and could be the perfect option for smaller celebrations; max 50 people standing or 30 people seated family style.
You and your guests will enjoy LIVIA’s Italian wine list and craft cocktails, handmade pasta, fresh pastries, and some of the best bread I’ve ever had. Seriously, it’s so good!
Hawksworth (York Room)
Inside the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Hawksworth is known for their upscale dining experience that features contemporary cuisine, local ingredients and Pacific Northwest influences. Beyond great food and great service, Hawksworth also has a private dining room that’s great for intimate weddings.
The York Room, located above the main restaurant, is a beautiful and elegant space with 1920’s charm. It boasts high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, stained glass and lots of interesting architectural elements.
The York Room can host up to 52 guests for a seated table reception or 80 guests for a standing cocktail reception. I love this venue for smaller weddings and couples that are looking for impeccable food and historic design in the heart of downtown Vancouver.
OTHER RESTAURANT GEMS IN THE CITY
Vancouver Hotel Wedding Venues
JW Marriott Parq Vancouver
One of the newer hotels in town, JW Marriott Parq Vancouver is a five-star, waterfront stay in the heart of downtown. This hotel offers beautiful suites, an elegant spa, and many spaces with great food and great service for your wedding day - including the largest ballroom in the city!
This is one of my favourite spots to shoot weddings because of the diversity of spaces in and around the hotel. In case of rain, there are a number of covered outdoor areas you can use. The rooms at both the JW Marriott and The Douglas next door make for stunning and modern backdrops for your getting ready photos. The D6 Lounge is another favourite spot of mine for portraits with a classy cocktail bar vibe.
The JW Marriott offers a few different locations for your ceremony and reception, depending on the vibe you’re looking for and your guest count. For larger weddings, the 15,604 square foot Parq Grand Ballroom can hold up to 800 guests.
Fairmont Hotel Vancouver
Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is known for its art deco architecture and tenured history as one of the city’s best luxury hotels since opening in 1939. Besides being an outstanding and convenient place to stay, it also makes for a gorgeous wedding venue for both full-scale weddings and smaller elopements.
There are beautiful areas all around the hotel that work perfectly for couples portraits. I love shooting getting ready photos in one of the 14th floor heritage suites, taking pictures along the grand staircase and, of course, making use of the iconic rooftop.
The Pacific Ballroom with its crystal chandeliers and gold drapes makes an elegant reception option. While my favourite space, The Roof, offers unbeatable city views from the 15th floor. There’s also the extra large British Columbia Ballroom at 11,400 square feet or plenty of quiet corners for an intimate elopement.
Rosewood Hotel Georgia
Originally opened in 1927, Rosewood Hotel Georgia combines the glamour of the roaring twenties with the modern amenities you’d expect to see at a luxury retreat. The result is an elegant, heritage venue, perfect for couples who love ornate, historic and romantic spaces.
I love the rooms and suites at Hotel Georgia; they’re clean and bright, which is perfect for getting ready photos. For your wedding, they offer three indoor event spaces, all with that old-world charm you’d expect from a heritage building.
The Spanish Ballroom, the largest at the hotel, features ornate chandeliers and a balcony, with space for 180-240 people. For smaller weddings, the Tudor Room with its heritage fireplace is perfect for 40-50 guests.
Wedgewood Hotel
When the Wedgewood Hotel opened in 1984, it was the first female-owned boutique property in Canada and has remained in the same family - with female owners - ever since. It’s a beautiful space to spend a few nights in downtown Vancouver and to host your wedding celebration.
Wedgewood offers a number of rooms for your ceremony and reception. Start your wedding day by getting ready in a Terrace Penthouse Suite with a beautiful outdoor space overlooking Robson Square.
From there, you can host your midsize wedding (55-100 guests) outdoors on the Chelsea Terrace or indoors in The Devonshire Room with its antique French fireplace. Or for smaller affairs, you can have a 20 person reception in The Library Room.
Fairmont Pacific Rim
Over in Coal Harbour lies Fairmont Pacific Rim, a luxury five-star hotel known for its modern amenities and connection to the water and mountains that surround it. Inside you’ll find light and bright rooms - ideal for getting ready photos - and a number of elegant and contemporary spaces to host your wedding.
For larger weddings, the Star Sapphire Ballroom can accommodate up to 500 guests in a warm walnut room with an ornate ceiling. For gorgeous views of the Vancouver Harbour and North Shore Mountains, the Emerald Ballroom is perfect (200 person capacity). And for intimate weddings of up to 40 people, the Chairman’s Suite Terrace offers both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Best of all, the service at Fairmont Pac Rim is fantastic! I also love the food here, especially if you’re after more upscale cuisine.
Outdoor Wedding Venues In Vancouver
VanDusen Botanical Garden
At 55 acres and with over 7,500 plant species, VanDusen Botanical Garden is a great outdoor wedding venue if you want a variety of backdrops and aesthetics for your photos. There are deep forested areas, manicured garden beds, waterfalls, ponds, gazebos, bridges, flower fields and even a giant hedge maze!
For a wedding with an English garden vibe, I definitely recommend VanDusen. Besides beautiful portraits throughout the garden, they have a variety of outdoor and indoor spaces you can rent for your ceremony and reception. Outdoor spaces include The Great Lawn (200 person capacity), Heron Lake (120 person capacity) and Meadow Pond (30 person capacity).
You can also choose to host part of your wedding day indoors. The Visitor Centre has a very architecturally interesting ceiling, Floral Hall offers a post-modern style and the Cedar Room is perfect for smaller celebrations. There’s also Shaughnessy Restaurant with an indoor dining room and outdoor patio space.
UBC Botanical Garden
One of my favourite outdoor wedding venues in Vancouver is the UBC Botanical Garden, which is actually the oldest university botanic garden in Canada (established in 1916). They have a few outdoor venue options, plus tons of stunning places throughout the garden for portraits.
My favourite venue at the garden is the Contemporary Lawn & Arbour. The natural foliage here is stunning and works perfectly for a Secret Garden-esque ceremony or an Italian garden party style reception. There’s also the Main Lawn venue, with capacity for up to 500, that offers a beautiful green space for larger weddings.
As a bonus, you’ll receive an annual membership to the garden and your guests will be able to enjoy access to the garden in between your ceremony and reception.
Unique Wedding Venues In Vancouver
The Garden Strathcona
One part cafe, one part shop and one part event space, there’s really nothing else like The Garden Strathcona in the city. This charming spot is a neighbourhood favourite and one of my top unique Vancouver wedding venues.
Upstairs you’ll find the Studio at the Garden, a 1,200 square foot space that features tons of natural light, lots of plants and industrial accents. It’s a great space for a small to midsize ceremony or reception. In addition to the studio, you can also rent out the cafe space downstairs, which makes for a great welcome area or cocktail lounge.
As an added bonus, The Garden Strathcona has a kitchen onsite, which is ideal for your catering team.
La Fabrique St-George
One of the reasons why I love La Fabrique St-George is because there’s so much you can do with this space. This Mount Pleasant winery has a cool industrial vibe with concrete floors and a high wooden ceiling. Add in a few florals or furniture rentals and you can absolutely make this space your own.
Not only does Fabrique St-George serve incredible wine, but they make their own wine on premises. You and your guests can get a peek at the winemaking process during your wedding and, of course, enjoy a few bottles during your reception.
La Fabrique St-George is best suited for small weddings which require a private buy-out of the space. If you’re looking for a modern industrial venue with great food and drink, definitely consider this spot.
KOU STUDIOS
KOU STUDIOS is the ultimate blank canvas for couples looking to bring their own unique wedding vision to life. Located in Mount Pleasant, KOU offers seven studio spaces that you can transform into any style for any type of celebration.
Five studio spaces are on street level, ranging in size from 400 to 1,200 square feet, with two more spaces on the upper floors. Most of the studios feature high ceilings and lots of natural light.
I think this venue is a great option for couples with a small to midsize guest list and who want to design their wedding from scratch.
Giggster
If you’re looking for something totally different, check out Giggster, a platform that connects renters with truly unique event spaces. There are hundreds of Vancouver spaces listed on Giggster ranging from studios and gyms to heritage apartments, cafes and retail stores.
Options like Giggster are best for couples who like to think outside the box, who value unique spaces or who don’t mind searching through lots of listings to find that perfect hidden gem.
As most of the spaces on Giggster are smaller, this route is best suited for small size weddings or elopements.
Backyard Wedding
It’s hard to get more personal than a wedding hosted in your own home or backyard. Some of my favourite wedding photos feature couples snuggled up on their own couch or exchanging vows under the trees in their own backyard.
At-home and backyard weddings are often best for smaller celebrations and for couples who want to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere. They’re great for memory-making, as you get to revisit your wedding location every single day.
If you don’t have a backyard or your home isn’t suitable for hosting a wedding, you can always ask a friend or family member if you can use their space. Even an apartment rental can still provide that cozy, at-home and personal feel for your wedding day.
